The IEP Guru provides special education advocacy services to families throughout Georgia, helping parents understand their rights, navigate the special education, IEP, and 504 processes, and participate meaningfully in decisions about their child's education.
Our Mission: To empower parents with the knowledge and support they need to advocate effectively for their children. We help families understand evaluations, eligibility, IEPs, 504 Plans, accommodations, services, behavior and discipline concerns, and other special education issues.
Our advocates work alongside parents before, during, and after special education meetings. Through record review, meeting preparation, parent education, and advocacy support, we help families identify concerns, understand their options, and communicate effectively with school teams.
Our goal is to foster informed parent participation and productive collaboration while keeping the student's individual needs at the center of the educational process.
Meet Mary Jo.
Dr. Mary Jo Ray-Jewett, The IEP Guru, has dedicated her career to empowering families of children with disabilities. With over 20 years of experience as an occupational therapist and advocate, Dr. Jewett offers a unique perspective and in-depth knowledge of the Special Education system. She is passionate about helping you navigate the IEP process and secure the best outcomes for your child.
