The IEP Guru, LLC Policies:

The IEP Guru, LLC makes it easy to understand how to get the most out of your work with Dr. Jewett. Please review these policies, which are in addition to the terms of your Advocacy Services agreement.  Contact policies: The primary contact person for The IEP Guru, LLC is Dr. Mary Jo Ray-Jewett. Dr. Jewett advocates for many students and works for a local public school system as an Occupational Therapist; therefore, to provide dedicated assistance and maintain availability to clients, these policies guide appropriate communications with her.  Dr. Jewett is available Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (EST) and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., prioritizing calls, consultations, and appointments booked in advance.  Attendance at IEP meetings is scheduled on Fridays between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Email Policies: Please allow up to two business days for a response by email, although Dr. Jewett strives to respond sooner.  Call Cancellations: Please provide 24 hours’ notice if you must cancel or reschedule a call or consultation. You may forfeit your call/consultation if less notice is provided.  Time Off Policy: The IEP Guru, LLC is closed on federal and state holidays. From time to time, you will be notified of additional days off.  Rush Services: The IEP Guru, LLC operates on a schedule and advance notice to allocate appropriate resources to each client’s matter. In the event of a rush service request, Dr. Jewett reserves the discretion to impose additional charges.  Billing: An intake fee is due prior to the first consultation upon signing the Special Education Advocacy Service Agreement.  This fee will cover the initial review of the student’s file, report cards, school/outside provider evaluations, and all correspondence.  After that, all services performed for the Client shall be billed at a flat hourly rate (billed in 10-minute increments.)  Dr. Mary Jo Ray-Jewett will bill the Client for services rendered; all billing is due and payable upon receipt. Fees shall include meetings, review of materials, observations, consultations, correspondence, and research. Billing Disputes: In the unlikely event of a disagreement between us regarding your services or deliverables, you agree to make a good faith attempt for 30 days to communicate with The IEP Guru, LLC, prior to initiating a chargeback.  One-on-one Communications: Consultation sessions will be held by phone or video conference with advance notice.   The session must be scheduled using Dr. Jewett’s link on Practice; there is no guarantee that her availability will match yours.  Your session is forfeited if you do not attend at the scheduled time.  If you must cancel or reschedule, you must do so at least 24 hours in advance, or your session will be forfeited.   Confidentiality: Your communications with Dr. Jewett are confidential. When developing strategies or responses, it is best not to forward or share these with the educational institution. Furthermore, the recommendations provided to you by Dr. Jewett are unique and proprietary; this information shall not be shared with friends or other families, both because it may not apply to that family’s situation and it is a work product that must be paid for.  Meeting Arrangements: Attendance at meetings is not a standalone service. Dr. Jewett can be available on Fridays to attend school meetings with current clients after a consultation session occurs.
